The Sentence That Stopped the Spiral

Her mind knew how to build storms.

One thought became ten. One fear became a whole future. One text unanswered became rejection. One quiet room became abandonment.

She did not know when it started, but somewhere along the way, her mind had learned to prepare for loss before love could even arrive.

Then one morning, while fear was building another case against her peace, she heard herself say:

“This is a feeling, not a prophecy.”

That one sentence stopped the spiral.

She sat still and breathed. She did not rebuke herself. She did not shame herself. She simply told the truth. Fear was speaking, but fear was not God.

2 Timothy 1:7 says:“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

A sound mind does not mean you never feel afraid. It means fear does not get to govern the room.

That day, healing came through a sentence she could hold onto.

“This is a feeling, not a prophecy.”

Pain had trained her to expect abandonment, but God was teaching her to discern the difference between memory and truth.
